Overview
This program enables students to develop an up-to-date general knowledge base in business administration and more. The program was designed with the advice of business leaders throughout the Commonwealth and teaches the professional skills that employers have identified in their most successful employees including:
• Communicating effectively both orally and in writing
• Understanding and applying basic business concepts
• Understanding contemporary business technology
• Ability to adapt quickly to new situations and effectively assume responsibility
• Working in and leading teams
• Seeking challenges and opportunities to excel
The BSB is specifically designed to enable you to meet these demands. Through traditional classroom instruction, active and collaborative learning, internships and practical experience, and technologically enhanced courses you will have the opportunity to develop these skills while you complete your theoretical preparation in the core business disciplines.
Program Options
Beyond fundamentals of core business areas--notably management, marketing, accounting, finance, and logistics--the program at Penn State Greater Allegheny allows students to choose from one of these two concentrations:
• Marketing and Management
• Individualized Business
Career Options
The program will help prepare you to meet the competitive demands of the business world--whether you work for one company for most of your life, follow a more typical path of working for several companies throughout your career, or find satisfaction as an independent entrepreneur. Others may use their degrees as the basis for entrance to graduate studies.
